What has Harry Potter taught you?
The importance of friendship, hard work, hope and determination. It taught me how to act, being on a film set, working with the cameras, with CGI, animals, actors, dealing with fame, everything!
After HP what has been your biggest challenge?
My first day in college. I didn’t know anybody, I was very nervous, in a new country. Actually I didn’t want to leave my room. I’m so proud I’m over it.
Were your classmates surprised that you were there?
The first few weeks they were, but they got bored after awhile (laughs).
Is it easy to pick up when someone likes you because of your fame?
You can tell immediately when that’s the case. I try not to worry about it too much, otherwise I wouldn’t give myself the chance to meet anybody. I’d neve be able to trust people again and I wouldn’t want that.
Why did you decide to go to college?
Education is very imporant to me, I like to learn. I wanted to have a normal experience and a life outside of the entertainment industry.
It seems like you have everything. You’re famous but you try to have a normal life for someone your age. Is something missing in your life?
I need to have more fun, like anyone my age! I’m always working, I’m addicted to work. My head needs to rest.
What’s a normal day in your life?
I don’t have an ordinary day because I’m trapped between two different lives. One day I’m filming, th next I’m off to college, the next day I’m home, then I’m designing clothes. There are no typical days for me.
You just launched your fashion line, what was the process of creating it like?
I was vey selfish. I designed what I would love to have. Plain, laid back stuff. I just pictured what I would love to wear.
Where do you learn about trends?
I don’t follow trends much, because I don’t like to dress like everybody else. I think that’s why I hate trends, actually. But I do like to read fashion magazines so I don’t feel so isolated.
How do you define your style of dressing?
I think it’s classic and simple. I try to be elegant, but at the same time laid back and relaxed.
Who is your fashion icon?
I like Audrey Hepburn and Jane Birkin. I like Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger.
What are your fall basics?
I love cashemir sweaters. I love the femenine style that you get when you mix things like tops and skirts.
Give us a fashion tip.
Follow your instincts, follow your heart. If what you’re not feling what you’re wearing or if you’re not sure, don’t wear it. Even if your friends are like “wow! it looks great!” just don’t. Listen to your feelings, wear what is comfortable for you and what makes you feel confident.
Have you ever had a fashion emergency?
Yes, many! I’ve ripped dresses, the air has blown my skirt up, I’ve had bad spray tans. Actually one time my hands were orange because of a fake tan!
And what did you do?
I exfoliated them to remove the color, but there isn’t really much you can do in those cases! It was hilarious.
What is the best outfit for a date?
Something that suits you, that looks good on you but at the same time special. You’re already stressed out enough when you go out with someone you like, so you shouldn’t wear uncomfortable shoes or a dress that you can’t breathe in.
Any love advice?
I’m probably not the right person to answer that. I think you should be yourself because otherwise, you’ll be on the wrong path and the results are not gonna be pretty. Be yourself, be honest. Don’t take it too seriously, that’s been one of my biggest mistakes. You’re young, just have fun!
How do you see yourself in 10 years?
I hope I’m dping something I love. I hope I’m with my family, having good friends, exploring the world. Just happy!
Have you ever doubted yourself?
Of course. It’s a human thing to doubt yourself, but you need to tell that little voice in your head that tells you you can’t do things to shut up! and realize that the voice is not you. You need to believe and have faith.
What do you do to stay in shape?
I work out and eat healthy.
What type of excercise do you do?
I love dancing. I hate gyms, even if I have to go to sometimes, I prefer to play a sport or dance because that’s how I can socialize.
What do you want to tell to our Seventeen readers?
We’re all different. Stay healthy. Be kind to yourself!
